Pfc. James G. Gabrielson
James was known as "Gabe" or "Gabby".  He was from Decorah, Iowa.

Entered service November 17, 1942. Last furlough in the first week of June 1944. Sailed overseas 1st week of September 1944. Was killed in action in Germany on November 19, 1944.

We were given an engineering mission clearing the road from Immendorf to Puffendorf of mines and debris. When my group reached Immendorf we all piled off the jeep and carried the mine detection into an alley. I saw Silvette [ ___ ___ ___ ] and I asked him what had happened. “Gabrielson just got killed,” he said. I turned around and there he was. I got a sudden tight feeling around my heart. Gabby had just got married a few months ago at Dix. Everybody liked Gabby.
