Constituted 24 June 1921 in the Organized Reserves as the 327th
Engineers as an element of the 102d Infantry Division
Organized November 1921 with Headquarters at St. Louis, Missouri
Regiment (less 2d Battalion) redesignated 30 January 1942 as the
327th Engineer Battalion (2d Battalion redesignated as the 891st
Engineer
Battalion, disbanded 11 February 1943)
Ordered into active military service 15 September 1942 at Camp Maxey,
Texas, as the 327th Engineer Combat Battalion
Inactivated 21 March 1946 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey
Activated 29 November 1946 with Headquarters at Chicago, Illinois, as
an element of the 102d Infantry Division
Inactivated 3 January 1947 at Chicago, Illinois; concurrently activated
with Headquarters at St. Louis, Missouri
(Organized Reserves redesignated 25 March 1948 as the Organized
Reserve Corps; redesignated 9 July 1952 as the Army Reserve)
Redesignated 1 January 1953 as the 327th Engineer Battalion
Inactivated 31 December 1965 at St. Louis, Missouri
